DIY Doily Purse!

You are going to die once you learn how easy and inexpensive this cute little DIY project is! It requires few materials and NO sewing is required. In fact, what attracted me to this project the most was the fact that it calls for my newest obsession: MOD PODGE! There are a million and one cool projects that call for the Podge. If you want to get inspired too, look at these other awesome Mod-Podging ideas!

Anyway, let's keep focus...

HERE IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* Purse - [50 cents @ yardsale]
* Doilies - [$1.50 @ craft store]
* Mod Podge [$5.99 craft store]
* Paintbrush
* Clips or Clothespins (optional if you are wrapping the doilies over edges, helps hold them in place while mod podge dries)

DIRECTIONS:
1. First, you always want to protect your space (especially in this case, because mod podge can get a little messy). Place newspaper down on the area where you will create your purse.

2. Next, you want to figure out exactly where you would like to place your doilies. Once you have them in place, you can use clips to keep the doilies from moving as you podge.

3. Now begin mod-podging your doilies! You want to be pretty generous with your podge to make sure that you get the doilies onto the purse really securely. A good trick is to start in the middle of the doily so that it stays put and then work your way out to the edges.

Now take your time here...
You don't want to move the doily out of position. Be careful to also not go over the edges onto the purse too much, just enough to fully seal the teeny edges down.

4. Cover doilies entirely with mod podge and fill in any holes. If your purse has a few curves in it, make sure to apply the podge along the strands and crevices to fit the shape of each curve the doily touches.

5. Give yourself a little break between applying each doily so that they have a little time to set. Once you have applied all of your doilies, you're (almost) done!

6. Let the purse sit out to dry overnight.

And now you are left with a totally cute, lace embroidered purse that you did all by yourself! Fab.
